Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name!

Thanks for visiting my page. Not a lot to see yet, but I'm really liking the possibilities here.

I'm in the process of finishing up my first 'solo' album. Some of you may remember me from "Glue: A Tribute to the Music of Duran Duran" that I released way back in 1999, and then the "Bangs...Sounds of the 80's" sets I produced three years later.

I've actually done stuff since then (a few bands called Spy Matthews, Post Orgasmic Trauma, and Ready might ring a bell with 3 or 4 people across the globe). The last several years have been mostly corporate multimedia and making a name for myself in voice over.

But the guitar, it can't be silenced! So I'm back into the world of my real passion, making some damned catchy pop music and wearing shiny clothes.

MILK

As seen in Rolling Stone & Cashbox Magazine, MILK's new album produced by Fran Ashcroft (Gorillaz, Dandy Warhols, Damon Albarn) in Los Angeles and Liverpool.
MILK new album available on iTunes.

"This is a new exciting band. You are going to dig what Milk is about."
Alexander Laurence/ SF Burning Magazine

Monochrome is definitely a mix tape must. Monochrome seems ready for prime time TV or to be included on the soundtrack for a motion picture. Each song on Milk unravels to reveal a new level of greatness to the bands sound.
Justin Scro/ Cashbox Magazine

Their mission is to lead a new trend of "New Alternative Psychedelia", combining the aesthetics of trippy hippie bands with a post-grunge appeal and a "forward thinking" vision.
Campus Circle Magazine.

A great first outing from MILK and definitely a band to keep an eye on.
Colin Meeks, IndieLaunchPad.com

The band's music is high energy and filled with fuzzy amped
up sounding guitars along with whiplash causing drum beats.
C.W. Ross/ Indiemusicstop.com

MILK is good for you- that is if you like fuzzed-out, trippy guitar rock that simmers, boils and frequently explodes./ Entertainment Today

From: The man of the sand

...To the shoulders of that ustling shadow, took shape ghost of oxen with highest horn which become tame to the first gesture of its hand; then he spoke: "Don't you hurry so; if you don't watch the sands carefully you risk being swallowed up by them!"
His voice was similar to a thunder, but deep, dark as if as you had never heard any; however I wasn't terrified.
"I'm the man that you are looking for, I'm Aeropo the cowherd! "He held through the thick beard.
"If you left to go all and therefore, you look at me straight in the my eyes you would see your birth, that's what you are breathlessly searching." "Where I would find myself?" I had the courage to ask.
"In the game of the more hidden powers, in the true earth of Berrohè where the Court of the Displeased ones supervises on the three talismans, where the brought races haven't equal in the world: fast animals like the wind, with the arched and powerful neck, with the wide chest and the quivering nostrils, oxen with gilt backs and heated eyes, the place where the earth is opaque and heavy and the stables surpass the hills, where the hooves are shod with silver and the ringing bridles announce infinite lines."

Update your status on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter in one click

I'd been looking for a way to do this for ages. For lazy bands who want to promote themselves easily, or lazy people who can't be bothered updating all three profiles, I decided to write out the steps I took to get it working here.

Make sure you're logged in on Facebook and MySpace before you continue...

First I installed the Twitter application for Facebook.

I checked the box to allow it to update my Facebook status, and that was all I needed to do.

So now, whenever I updated on Twitter, I automatically updating on Facebook - which is all good.

Then I fell across this genius stroke:

Twitter Sync on MySpace.

Install the application, log in to Twitter via the app, then change your MySpace status. If you look a little bit further down on the left of the page, you'll see the Twitter Sync application and the sync button. Just click on Sync!

MySpace sends your status to Twitter, and Twitter (automatically through the first application you installed) sends your status to Facebook.

If you're serious about getting your message everywhere, and have some time to spare, then check out Ping FM - it takes a lot more time to set up, but you can update multiple social networking sites at once & post blogs too.

I hope you're all enjoying the Guitar Hero World Tour competition - in case you've somehow missed it, there's 10 copies up for grabs... it's the rockAffairs.com Christmas Special... I hope you enjoy it!

Hello there, it's so nice to be here. Anyway, I'm a rock music lover especially songs from groups that belongs to the 70's and 80's. My reason is simple, most of their music built around original sound without much modification. Back then, the tech are not advanced yet. They are depending much to the talent and original ability of those bands.

I would like to produce music around the style of 70's and 80's hard rock/heavy metal. Another thing is, I love their guitar solos part. Many of them are brilliant you know, everybody love to watch/hear a guitar soloist like Ritchie Blackmore and Jimi Hendrix.

That's for now, I hope you enjoy your download and of course there are many more that are coming from my vault, so visit often before you miss the best part.

MANICOMIO HONIRICO HERMETICO

Album title chosen

OK, the big revelation is …we’re going to call the album Banging The Rocks.

If you know the Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy, you’ll realise that at the restaurant at the end of the universe the host says a big hello to all sentient beings out there and advises everyone else to keep banging the rocks together.

Once you do that you get fire, then you get technology and then you can advance to space travel etc. So, Banging The Rocks seemed the ideal phrase to use for the title of this album.

For the artwork, the cover features a pair of hands banging crude stones together on the front and the same hands rubbing polished stones together on the back – hopefully that’s not too subtle a change! And the CD label has a picture of a rockslide crushing a car, which is a photo I took in Cornwall, England, when I was down there once.

And we have the running order finalised too – we’re taking the approach of starting with the most radio friendly tracks and working back from there. So open with Sound of Rock, then it’s Question Of Love, My Revolution and Girls Don’t Look. The middle section is Nothing Is More, Screw The Earth, I Will Decide and Hook In My Heart. We bring the record home with Bring On The Summer, Monsoon Rain, Come To Know and Season Of The Rose in that order.

I’ll tell some stuff about the last of the pre-release jobs next time. Have fun and make good music!

All done and dusted

Here we are at the end of the road. Time to thank you for staying with me throughout the journey (I’ve had some interesting comments en route, thanks for those). Time also to hope that you’ve found at least a bit of what I’ve said useful and can apply it to your own music.

And time to thank everyone who’s contributed to the making of the Banging The Rocks album, not least Fran Ashcroft for mastering the record and helping with some great tips for the mixes.

All we have to do now is market the CD. We’ll start with CDBaby as they can get the record into all sorts of useful places, and we also have some contacts we’ve built up over the years we were with Rising Records that can help us distribute the new album. We’ve always done a lot of our marketing, so we’ve contacts there too.

I guess we’ll do some traditional stuff like playing gigs (if you want us in your town, you need to ask!) and then we’ll have to consider radio plugging, making videos, maybe something really modern like streaming a live show over the internet. Finally there are the reviews to gather and the media attention to attract.

So, the work doesn’t stop once the product is finished, does it? And what’s the point of making an album you’re really proud of if no-one gets to hear the songs.

To end with, a quick request. Please come and visit us at www.sharppractise.com and check out the songs on the Banging The Rocks album page. And please come to our myspace site and listen to the full songs there, which we’ll put up in rotation as the weeks go by.

All the best,

NEWS
Twisted recorded a long awaited EP, 'Live n Loud'. The tracks were recorded in one take in just 3 days thanks to the help of the very capable Matt at Bink Bonk Studios in Bristol. It was probably less than 3 days cos Drew insisted on using his 30" bass drum that ended up having over 4 microphones in it!

The result - a very convincing commercial hard rock band that is hard to categorise. There are brutal bass lines and bone splitting guitar riffs that could put the terminator in hospital. Above this you get the classic vocal that is Savage who's control of power, light and shade takes the music from a sinister dark brood into soaring melodic passion creating tracks such as Jason Generation and Goyaale which you just can't get out of your head.

Twisted plan to lauch the new EP at a gig very soon, and rumour has it that this will be followed by a tour - so don't miss it!

Drew was interviewed on Amazing Radio due to be broadcast later this month and the new website is now up and running.

Visit us here

http://www.twisted-rock.com

video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_TWus8XNJg
